Jet2’s PR razzmatazz signals big expansion at airport

14 Apr 2016

Here’s a bit of PR at its best! and Jet2holidays moved to Belfast’s Victoria Square with attention-grabbing giant beach props to unveil their summer 2017 fights and holidays programme their biggest ever!

There will be fourteen exciting sunshine hotspots including the brand new Girona on the Costa Brava. The new twice weekly flights to the Costa Brava will give Northern Irish holidaymakers direct access to iconic Blue Flag beach resorts Malgrat de Mar and Lloret de Mar.

The Victoria Square sunshine holiday scene with its out-sized deck chair, giant bucket and spade, palm tree and monster ice cream cone got even more attention when thousands of pounds worth of flights were handed out to lucky passers-by.

The expansion will mean eight-two flights a-week from the International next summer. That  will bring to 280,000 the number of seats available, which is a 10% increase on the current figure.

Graham Keddie, Managing Director, Belfast International Airport, said: “We are delighted to see continue their growth in Summer 2017 from Belfast International. Significantly more seats are on offer with increased frequencies to all of the popular holiday destinations and extended season lengths – and of course the long-sought return of direct flights to the traditionally popular Costa Brava region in Spain.

“We look forward to working closely with Jet2 towards another strong and successful year of operations from Northern Ireland.”
