Thomas Cook Airlines to fly Belfast-Cancun in S17 - Cancun joins Cuba, Las Vegas and Florida destinations
Mini-series announced at NI agents’ Quiz on a Plane event
Manchester, 1st April, 2017 — Thomas Cook Airlines has announced a four-flight mini-series from Belfast to Cancun. The announcement was made at last night’s agents’ Quiz in the Air, run by Thomas Cook Airlines and supported by Belfast International Airport.
Cancun is the fourth new long-haul taster destination by Thomas Cook Airlines from Belfast International, with Cuba, Las Vegas and Florida all lined up for W16-S17.
150 retail and independent agents enjoyed a themed check-in at Belfast International Airport before taking to the skies in one of Thomas Cook Airlines new A321s to experience the full impact of the £100M investment in new cabins, as well as take part in a quiz for some cool prizes.
Sharon Confue, Thomas Cook Airlines’ head of sales, said: “No other UK leisure airline is investing as much time and effort in their cabin quality, aircraft and relationships with the trade as we are. Agents are key to our continued improvement and that’s why we’re running this series of events and fly-arounds to make sure we can bring that product to life for those who are so important to helping sell it to their customers.
“We’re really proud of how our airline has transformed and while the nature of such is that some aspects of that change have been challenging, we’re in a much improved place product and service-wise than we were even 12 months ago. We’re committed to supporting agents to do the best for their customers and that’s what today’s all been about.”
Uel Hoey, business development director, Belfast International Airport, said: “We are thrilled to note this significant expansion of Thomas Cook’s direct long haul programme from Belfast – now across Four different routes in 2017.
“We know that there is strong market demand from Northern Ireland for long haul holidays and we will continue to work closely with Thomas Cook, and other partners, to develop the widest possible choice for local holidaymakers, literally from the convenience of their own doorstep at Belfast International Airport.”
