Strong customer demand has prompted Balkan Holidays to add 40% more seats to its schedule from Belfast International Airport to Bourgas in Bulgaria.

The Black Sea resort’s increased popularity means that for Summer ’18, Balkan will provide 5,400 seats and operate three flights a-week from Northern Ireland’s main airport to the beautiful city and beach destination.

Chris Rand, Balkan Holidays Sales and Marketing Manager (pictured with Deborah Harris from Belfast International Airport) says the Black Sea coastline is a big hit with Northern Ireland holiday-makers, and advance bookings are strong.

Mr Rand said: “There is no better place than this stunning Black Sea location which extends to 230 miles with lots of activities from scuba diving, water park activities, cultural and musical events to just exploring historical sites or the spectacular scenery as you take in the fresh mountain air.

“The climate couldn’t be better. And for value, holiday-makers get some great deals with food and drink roughly half what you would pay in other European destinations.

“Demand is really strong for Bourgas and we’re delighted to be able to put on more than 2,100 additional seats and operating up to three flights a week during the summer season tomeet that upsurge.”

Belfast International Airport Business Development Director Uel Hoey said, said: “The airport is delighted with this welcome expansion of services by Balkan. Balkan has been a mainstay and it’s gratifying to see the company respond so positively to what is clearly a high demand from local holiday-makers.

“Our Summer ’18 season will be the busiest ever with hundreds of thousands of additional seats available to more than 70 destinations non-stop from your local airport.

“Bourgas and Bulgaria are making great strides, and Belfast International Airport is more than willing to assist the delivery of cost-effective holiday packages. Balkan Holidays are to be congratulated on this commitment to the marketplace.”
