Belfast International Airport is advising passengers not to leave it until the last minute to make their flights.
The airport is urging passengers to allow two hours to process through Central Search before heading to Airside departure gates.
Belfast International Airport Head of Security, Nabeel Gill, said: We are dealing with unprecedented numbers at the airport, which means it will take extra time to reach departure gates.
“We will be doing all we can to accommodate passengers during what will be the busiest summer ever. We don’t want passengers missing flights and being disappointed, which is why we are saying to please leave plenty of time.
“If you are travelling at peak times, you should plan about two hours to get from the car park or Drop-Off to where you need to be.
“If you leave it until the last minute, you could run into problems. Every available resource is being used at Central Search but the process still takes some time and we know some people are cutting it too fine.
“Err on the side of caution. Arrive with plenty of time to spare. We will do all we can to ensure a hassle-free experience at Central Search, but it still takes time and if numbers are significant then clearly it will take longer to conduct passenger processing.”
